Meet Elly Vriends, project manager at Anchr
Meet Elly Vriends
Anchr Ambassador
- What does a typical workday look like for you?
My typical workday is a day in the office in Breda where I support clients with the projects they have running at Anchr. This includes creating project proposals, drafting schedules, following up on a project and making adjustments where necessary, ... I also monitor budget progress and during the invoicing round, I ensure that invoices are produced and sent. Daily, I am in contact with fellow project managers or our developers to discuss the progress of projects. If I am not in the office in Breda, you can also regularly find me in our office in Ghent or, of course, with clients. Finally, I continuously look at how we can optimize our processes.
- How do you prefer to collaborate?
For me, it is important to have regular coordination with the different project teams and see how I can support them. Even when projects are going well. I attach great importance to having regular contact with each other. This way, I stay best connected with the project leaders and developers.
- How do you deal with challenges?
I enjoy challenges in my work. I personally work in a structured manner and maintain an overview through lists and schedules. When a challenge arises, I first try to gain the necessary insight into it and then look at who I need to involve to tackle the challenge.
- What makes you happy?
I am happy with the freedom I have to organise my work and plan my tasks myself. Of course, there are certain guidelines that I must follow, but I also have a lot of space and the ability to work in my own way. Additionally, there is a good work-life balance at Anchr, as well as a pleasant atmosphere among colleagues. I know that my colleagues are always ready to help me if needed. This is the ideal basis for building a relationship with my clients and colleagues.

- What opportunities do you see?
At Anchr, personal growth is encouraged and embraced. I was given the opportunity to further develop as a team coach. Anchr is also growing rapidly. It’s great to see so much happening within our organisation.
- What is your favourite Anchr moment?
I have many wonderful moments. From a great collaboration with colleagues where everyone gave 100% to satisfy the customer, to fun office parties, outings and drinks (outside of working hours) with colleagues.
- Why did you choose to work at Anchr?
I was looking for a new challenge in project management. Anchr immediately aligned with what I was seeking: a company with many experienced people from whom I could learn a lot, but also a company that gives the freedom to apply my own experiences. I also quickly noticed that Anchr is a company where collegiality is highly valued. Everyone is there for each other.
- Why is Anchr an interesting workplace for you?
In short? The freedom you are given to organise your work yourself, the energy I get from my work, and the wonderful colleagues make me really enjoy working at Anchr. 😊
