Sharing experiences and looking ahead

Retailers share experiences and look ahead

As is customary every year, Anchr invited users of Anchr Retail Cloud Suite to brainstorm together about the latest features, recent projects, and the future roadmap of the software. Anchr partner Oracle provided its venue for this event, where Samara Lalmy, Cluster Leader Benelux Alliance & Channel at Oracle, shared all the ins and outs regarding data from the Red Bull racing team with the attendees. “It’s inspiring to see how they handle data and how they make new choices based on those outputs to make Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen go even faster,” said Willem Bless, Product Owner of Anchr Retail Cloud Suite.

 Data is gold
“Using and analysing data as optimally as possible is crucial in times of digital transformation,” testified Thomas Wouters, Business Development Manager Business Insights at Anchr. “Not only in Formula 1, but for any organisation that wants to keep improving.” "Thomas demonstrated with an engaging case study during the event how Anchr supported a Dutch supermarket chain in the transformation from on-premise to the cloud, allowing it to analyse its data reporting even faster and more efficiently today with the help of Microsoft Power BI dashboarding.

Heading into 2024

Addressing the needs and expectations of Anchr customers is very important to Anchr. That is why a poll was organized in which Anchr RCS customers could indicate what Anchr should definitely focus on in 2024. mPOS emerged as the clear winner. “We are noticing that there is increasing interest in mPOS,” said Mike Snepvangers, Commercial Director Retail at Anchr. “The desire from users has grown to organise an mPOS workshop together with standard development to elevate the mPOS to the next level. This is something we will certainly work on!”

After effort comes relaxation!

After a nice lunch, attendees headed to the fourth floor of the Oracle building, where the Oracle Data Race Experience Center has been built with a real Formula 1 racing car. Participants had the chance to race against each other digitally and complete five laps on the virtual circuit in Zandvoort. Next to the Formula 1 car, a live scoreboard displayed the times of all racers for each ‘lap’. It was thrilling until the last person got into the car.

We concluded the day with a spectacular digital Formula 1 race where customers could sit in a real Formula 1 car to achieve the best time digitally on the Zandvoort circuit. The big winner of the day was Mark Suurmond, IT Manager of IJsvogel Retail.
