ILVO aims for more efficiency and lower costs in its financial and purchasing processes

ILVO, a scientific research institute and service organisation of the Flemish government, started looking for a new accounting system in 2016. ‘We had specific needs regarding our new accounting system, such as a number of specific VAT codes for domestic and international transactions. Through Financials, this could be set up very flexibly,’ says Katrien De Bruyn, Financial Coordinator at ILVO. ‘The possibility of dimensions in the context of analytical accounting was also very attractive in the package. Anchr’s software package was the ideal match for us.’ Since 2017, after the implementation, ILVO has seen Anchr as a reliable partner.

Smooth implementation

In 2022, after a thorough impact analysis, ILVO transitioned to the new Financials. ‘The features that were included in the previous financial package from Anchr as initial requirements for ILVO have also been incorporated into the new package,’ Katrien notes. ‘Anchr supplied, installed, and configured Financials at ILVO for the financial management of our various departments and brought everything neatly into production.’

Additionally, ILVO wanted to optimise its purchasing process. In 2020, Purchase to Pay was implemented in two departments within ILVO. ‘Thanks to this software, the purchasing process runs much smoother and we save time and money,’ says Katrien. The rollout to the other three departments within ILVO was completed in 2023.  

Both software solutions ensure that ILVO can work more efficiently and effectively, reduce its costs, and optimise its financial processes. Katrien also confirms: 'Thanks to the implementation, we are up-to-date and enjoy the latest possibilities. It sometimes requires an adjustment in your operations, but time and again you see that it is worth it and you can work more smoothly.'
