For more than 25 years, Bebat has been giving batteries a new life by collecting, sorting, and recycling them. Bebat partnered with Anchr to digitalise and automate the entire process, from collection to sorting and recycling. A central back-office portal application was developed that integrates with various underlying consumer applications.

Efficient, reliable and fully traceable

Bebat is not staying still!

Thanks to extensive automation, many business processes at Bebat now run very smoothly: for instance, an automatic collection request is sent when a box at a collection point is full, using IoT sensors. The use of sensors and their setup was realized by a third party, with all data obtained from this being processed by our solution to initiate specific processes. Requests, collections, and other business events & actions are easy to consult and track in the back office portal. 

Today, Bebat uses a tailor-made portal application that provides significant efficiency gains for both its customers and Bebat employees. And Bebat is not resting on its laurels. The organization has defined a number of new work points to further increase efficiency.

With this project, we have not only focused on the simple customer experience that we wanted to provide to our customers, but also our employees have had more time to work on valuable tasks since the launch of the portal. A perfect double win!

Anchr as a reliable software partner

Technology is key

Thanks to Anchr's knowledge and experience in developing and implementing custom-built Microsoft applications, including portals, Bebat chose Anchr without hesitation. For the technical setup of the back office portal, AgilePoint, SQL Server, and .NET MVC were selected. By using Azure DevOps build pipelines that combine continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), code is tested, built, and delivered correctly. Anchr consultants were responsible for the technical analysis, development, and unit and integration testing of the solution. The entire setup is hosted in the private cloud environment of AXI, our hosting partner.


The communication with Bebat is particularly efficient. Customer requirements are captured during meetings and added directly to the Azure DevOps planning. All Bebat employees involved in this project have access to this platform, where they can approve and follow up on all requirements.
